A Few Things to Know

We've gathered answers to the most common questions about this journey. If you have more questions, we're always here to help.

The Ionian Islands — Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaka, Kefalonia, and Paxos — are considered ideal for sailing due to sheltered waters, gentle winds, and short distances between islands. The Ionian offers calmer conditions than the Aegean, making it perfect for families and first-time sailors.

Most passages in the Ionian are 1-3 hours, allowing plenty of time for swimming, exploring villages, and relaxing on deck. The compact geography means you visit a new island or anchorage every day without long open-water crossings.

June and September offer warm weather with quieter anchorages. Water temperatures reach 22-25°C in September. July and August are warmer but busier. Late May is possible but water temperatures are cooler at 19-20°C.
